Planning for Offline
- Published: 22 March 2021
We’re taking an offline approach!
OutSystems explains offline as still having functionality of and access to some or even all of the processes within a mobile application.
Plan for Off the Grid
Questions to consider when planning and building a mobile application that is required to work offline.
- What features and capabilities should be available? Will your users require to browse data offline? Is there multimedia they need to view offline?
- What data will you store locally? Bearing in mind that local databases are lightweight, remember to store only the essentials!
- What conditions will trigger synchronisation? When will your data be synchronised? Will it be triggered at certain events or when the network restores?
- When will you require a connection to the server? And what functionalities will this include?
Don’t let Offline Capabilities be the make or break to your next mobile application!
Ok, now let’s take this conversation offline!
