They say 1 in 7 women are diagnosed with breast cancer, but did you also know that 1 in 700 Australian men are also diagnosed with this form of cancer too.
Last Friday the wonderful ladies at Altegra Property invited our Director and Chief Operations Officer, Tracy De Paolis, and Operations Assistant, Katelyn McLennan, to join their table at the Breast Cancer Research Centre (BCRC) WA luncheon event called ‘Our State on a Plate’. This event aimed to raise vital funds to support the wonderful work of BCRC WA.
"The event was beautifully executed, with meaningful testimonials, competitive bidding wars and, of course, delicious food. We were able to raise money for a good cause while learning from and talking with good people - what's not to enjoy?" - Katelyn
The Breast Cancer Research Centre WA has achieved change in education and patient-care throughout Australia, improving the experience for men and women receiving treatment for breast cancer.
Although the five-year breast cancer survival rate has improved by 76% - 91%, there is still vital research to be done. BCRC aims to reduce the impacts of breast cancer, improve the treatments and support services available, and continue to increase the survival rate.
