Cloud Services refers to the ability to easily store and access your data online in a secure fashion. This allows businesses to work across multiple locations and devices at any time.

What are the three main categories of Cloud Services?

  • Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) - Refers to highly scalable and automated computer resources, allowing businesses to purchase resources on-demand and as required. For example, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure.
  • Platform as a Service (PaaS) - Commonly used by developers to build and customise applications. For example; Windows Azure, AWS Elastic Beanstalk
  • Software as a Service (SaaS) - Delivering services through a third-party vendor, to its users. For example; Google Apps, Dropbox, Salesforce
