It was a great honour to hold the Novata Solutions inaugural International Women's Day Lunch event on Monday 8th March at the newly built Anzac House in Perth. We invited some very special women from all walks of business life – the corporate world, NFP, Aged Care and large and small business owners. It was an inspiring day of knowledge, networking and sisterhood, along with great food and service, as always at the RSL.

The afternoon began with some networking and making new connections, followed by an informative but very powerful presentation by Novata Solutions very own female Director and COO Tracy De Paolis. Everyone was put on the spot to stand and speak about what International Women's Day meant to them. Together we spoke of the struggles we have all faced or continue to face and what it is that has empowered us to want and do more within our society and life. Running through the lunch was an amazing PowerPoint, put together by Indiana De Paolis, of over 75 women through time, that have had an impact on change.

What we took away most from our event, was that regardless of industry, age or role in the workforce, we are all women that celebrate in our femininity, being strong and willing to “Choose to Challenge”. We all spoke about what IWD means to us, and the feeling in the room was so positive and inspiring, that all 25 attendees are interested in getting together again, opening our network up to other amazing women that are looking for a connection to other like-minded women in business and hoping to make a difference to our world!

'Behind every woman, is any army of women supporting her' - Quote Unknown.

International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. This year's theme was 'Choose to Challenge'. ““A challenged world is an alert world. Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day.”
