The Document Information Panel in BACK
The Document Information Panel was removed in Office 2016 applications, but now it is back in the latest update for Microsoft Word.
Up until now you have had to navigate to the document properties or purchase 3rd party add-ins, but this is no longer the case.
You might have noticed that word has had a slight overhaul in the latest update and is now called “Microsoft Word Office 365”
Along with autosave, this latest update now brings back the SharePoint document panel, which allows you to live publish your metadata to SharePoint. This panel supports all the native SharePoint fields along with the word document properties - allowing you to have rich connected systems between Word and SharePoint.
